Global recognition for student-professionals

Google Inc, an Information Technology giant has selected 3 projects submitted by Kuttippuram MES Engg. College students, in a stiff competition at the International level. As *Google Summer of Code* contest winners, they get a scholarship of US$4500 (around Rs.2.5 lakhs) each and certificates apart from the unlimited exposure to real world software development scenarios. Various open source projects initiated by student developers around the world were evaluated at this contest.

The students, Antony Francis Maliakal and Jinesh. K.J. both final semester Computer Engineering students have been selected for their projects *Akshara OCR* and *Comprehensive Malayalam Input System for GNU/Linux* respectively. Shyam K., a second year Electronics and Communication Engineering student also finds place in the list for his project, *Basic Speech Recognition in Malayalam*. Congratulations..
